why is miles being middle to upper middle class so hard to comprehend? He never had to starve, his parents are happy to buy him art supplies, he never had to steal he never needed donations from the people of New York. Literally, Peter is canonically more broke than Miles.

when i was 12, my dad left my mum. it was sudden, unexpected, one minute we’d been a happy family, the next he was telling my mum he was having an affair with her best friend. a lot of stuff happened after that.
my mum’s depression kicked in hard (she’d been suffering from it since she was a teen, but she’d been pretty good for the past few years). my mum and dad’s friends both chose sides and my mum lost a lot of her support. I re-read the harry potter series 3 times (we didn’t realize until years later that my obsession with the series may have been caused by the fact that i was watching a harry potter movie when my dad left). my mum tried to kill herself, and upon hearing this my dad (who i was with at the time) didn’t tell me anything and dropped me off outside my aunt’s house, where no one was home. we moved in with my mum’s parents because neither of us was mentally well enough to take care of one another. I lost most of my friends (the real kicker for me was hearing two of them talking about me, not knowing i was behind them, saying “she needs to get over herself, she’s not the only one with daddy issues). I watched my dad almost choke my mum, then try to hit her and only stop when i screamed at him. my dad constantly tried to force me to like and spend time with his new woman, who i felt (and still feel) nothing but hatred for. I myself developed depression and anxiety. it was a lot.
As well as reading harry potter obsessively to cope, i also played a lot of Skyrim (and later Dragon Age). it was nice, to escape into this fantasy world, where the only thing that mattered was to fight dragons. I made characters, spending so long getting their appearance right, getting the right names, etc. Then i joined tumblr and learned what an OC was.
i had a lot of OCs at first, not wanting to abandon a single charatcer, but there were 2 that really grew and that i bonded with, and who i still have to this day. I’ll call them Crow and Llewellyn. I projected on Crow and Llewellyn a lot, each of them taking an emotion i was struggling with a lot at the time of their creation.
for Crow, it was sadness. She was the stereotypical depressed sad backstory character who everything bad happens to. She had a dead twin sister, both her older brothers ran away from home and left her to fend for herself against her abusive mother, her father was never around. She was suicidal and tried to kill herself and cut herself and didn’t really talk to people. She stopped me from actually self-harming, or worse Because even though all these horrible things happened to crow, she always managed to still survive. She made it through. She got BETTER.
for Llewellyn, it was anger. She was a child who’d suffered from anger problems since she was born, was hated and locked up by her family, blamed for her older brothers death (idk, i apparently had a thing about giving character dead siblings???), left locked in her room to stew in her rage, breaking things and screaming. She helped me when i wanted to send angry emails to my dad calling his new woman a cunt and bitch and slut and telling him i hated him and such. And eventually, Llewellyn escaped, she got away from her family, she found a way to help herself and she THRIVED.
(and once i started to realize i wasn’t straight, i added bits to both their backstories where they met and ended up getting together)
self-insert(/heavily-projected-onto) OCs saved my life honestly. They gave me… hope? i’m not sure if that’s the right word. But they helped me. I made more OCs, some less projected onto than others, and you know what? I got better, just like Crow. I thrived, just like Llewellyn.
People say self-inserts are cringey and stupid, but without them i don’t know where i’d be now. So please don’t shit on people with self-inserts. you don’t know what they’re going through

If electricity runs through it, it has sound.
Rarely is there actual silence (and that does bother me due to lack of sensory input).
This is why the barn uses me when they think the horses are reacting to a noise they can’t hear. I’ll likely find it (it’s usually the heating or the electrical box in the indoor).
I also know when the electric fences are on.
For years I was convinced that I was either hallucinating or had hearing damage, because electronics always made this high-pitched whine that was closer to being felt than heard, and nobody else knew what I was talking about.
Then I met other autistic people.

Like, most human bodies have adapted in such a way that it’s easy to gain fat and muscle and harder to lose them. Especially fat. It’s easy to gain fat bc your body needs it and we live in a calorie-rich time. Fat =/= bad, and I’m so so so tired of our entire society acting like it does.
Anime “historians” have split the Magical Girl genre in 3 great ages :
The first era (70s/80s) : the golden age of Toei and Studio Pierrot. Magical Girls rae mostly cute shows tagetted to young children. The main character is a little girl who uses her powers to become a teenager and accomplish one or several jobs, most of the time to help her family or seduce her older crush.
The second era (90s/00s) : Magical Girls become older, sexier and toughter. Since Cutey Honey and Sailor Moon, they are now targetting a wider and more mature audience with super hero and sci-fi elements.
The third era (10s) : With Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, the Magical Girl genre takes a darker turn. But it’s Puella Magi Madoka Magica that really makes this new trend explose. Those new Magical Girls target an adult audience, mainly males with outrageously sexy characters and transformations. With their violent and mature theme, they range from metaphysical horror masterpieces to bad taste galore and straight up porn.
The frist season is clearly mirroring the early Magical Girl shows : cute, childish and innocent. It’s basically the everyday life of a little boy with magical powers who tries to help poeple.
Season 2 introduces new enemies, Jasper and Yellow Diamond. The funny mosters of the week are now over-shadowed by a more consistant sci-fi lore. The real age of Steven is revealed and we understand he was never a kid but a teenager in a child body. Aside from the more action packed episodes, tragic backstories start emerging.
Seasons 4 and 5 become heavier and heavier. Just like the “Era 3 Magical Girls”, Steven finds himself in a position of doubt. Was his mother a good person ? Is this war worth fighting ? Characters we thought as good guys reveal darker secrets and not-so-pure motives, when the intergalactic super villains show a more vulnerable and human side. At this point, Steven’s own existance becomes the center of the plot.

My mom just took my dog to the vet
She(my dog) was(still is?) having a seizure
Last month we took my dog to the vet and they told us she had developed diabetes, they told us it was caused by the food she was eating, purina beneful.
They told us that there have been many many many reports of Beneful has been causing diabetes, seizures, and even death in dogs.
We had no idea
We immediately switched her food and put her on a special diet plan for her diabetes, unfortunately the effects were already permeate.
Today at 11:20 my mom woke me up crying, I helped her carry my dog to the car (while she was still having a seizure) and watched her drive away red faced and still crying.
Please please PLEASE if you are feeding your pets Purina beneful PLEASE switch their food ASAP
